When it comes to selecting images to edit in Black and White, this is the perfect kind of image because it has both directional and hard light, which is very dynamic and allows you to create a lot of depth and drama. In this Photoshop editing tutorial, Meg wanted to make the whites more dynamic so she used curves to lift up the mid-tones. Next, for even more layers of light, Meg used the dodge tool to brush light into her hair and cloned some catchlights into the subject's eyes to create some soft drama. Lastly, she added contrast to give the image more of a punch and used the linear gradient tool to paint up some darkness for a dreamy, dramatic effect. Now it’s your turn to create some soft drama in your Black and White images!
