Foundations of Soul Stories: The Emotion of Art - April 2023

Life is hard. That's a fact. The world is a crazy place and everyone you encounter is probably struggling in some way under the masks we wear each day.

When life feels heavy, Amy King turns to photography as a way to process her feelings, as a way to push through or reflect on a difficult time, or simply as a way to escape. Sometimes Amy creates a masterpiece and sometimes she just creatse, but either way she usually feel better afterward.

Join Amy King as she moderates a new Foundations class - Soul Stories: The Emotion of Art.

Foundations of Soul Stories: The Emotion of Art will begin on April 3rd and will continue for 4 weeks. Each Tuesday, Amy will post an instructional video and each Monday, a critique video from Amy will be posted.

In this collective style course, Amy will act as moderator and discuss how she uses both composite and portrait photography to process the big feelings in her life. Each week a new topic will be introduced for you to explore in your own life. A private Facebook group for the course will be safe space to ask questions and submit your own images to share with others.

Week 1: Explain collectiveness of this unit. Discuss how we can use our art as a form of therapy to explore our emotions and trials in life. Amy will share several personal images and share how they helped her process her emotions.

Week 2: Review week 1 images. This week we will work through a personal issue - something singular to you that impacts your life or who you are in a profound way. Amy edits an image around this topic.

Week 3: Review week 2 images. This week we will work through an aspect in your life you can't control. This can be political, something happening in the world now, a medical diagnosis, any moment when you felt powerless. Amy edits an image around this topic.

Week 4: Review week 3 images. This week we will work though experiences of hope or happiness, trying to find the rainbow after the storm. You can explore real life experiences or even dreams and wishes. Amy will edit an image around this topic.

A file detailing how to join the course group and the secret code will be available to download as a PNG file after purchase. You will have to provide your email address AND the secret code provided in order to join the private group! You will be approved individually, shortly BEFORE the experience begins.
